                   MIL-STD-2150A, MILITARY STANDARD: SHIP COMPARTMENT NOMENCLATURE AND SPACE CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (28 SEP 1989) [SUPERSEDES DOD-STD-2150] [S/S BY MIL-HDBK-2150]., The purpose of this standard is to establish a uniform system for recording and identifying the space allocated in Navy ships and to provide an alphabetical listing of all approved ship compartment titles. The Space Classification System shall be used for assignment of a space classification number to a space. The space classification number indicates the function performed by the space. The alphabetical listing shall be used to provide titles for all new or modified ship compartments.
