                   MIL-STD-2073/1C, DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE: STANDARD PRACTICE FOR MILITARY PACKAGING (01 OCT 1996) SUPERSEDES MIL-STD-2073-1B, MIL-STD-2073-2C, MIL-STD-1510B & MIL-P-116J]., This document outlines standard processes for thedevelopment and documentation of military packaging, as distinct fromcommercial packaging. This standard covers methods of preservation to protectmaterial against environmentally induced corrosion and deterioration, physicaland mechanical damage, and other forms of degradation during storage, multiplehandling, and shipment associated with the military distribution system. Adecision chart is included for developing these packaging requirements (seeFigure 1).
