For government contractors, the handbook database is intended to provide sufficient information on an piece of support equipment so that it may be considered for a contemplated application. Use of this data system is intended to provide for maximum usage of in-inventory assets, and the elimination of duplicate design or development of support equipment for different weapon systems.
