MIL-S-6090A, MILITARY SPECIFICATION: STEELS USED IN AIRCRAFT CARBURIZING AND NITRIDING, PROCESS FOR (4 JUN 1971) ., This specification presents requirements for the carburizing and nitriding of carbon and allow steels to produce the mechanical properties specified by drawings, detail specifications, or other applicable specifications. The heat treatment of parts fabricated shall be in general accordance with the methods described in this speciification.
